About the Role
The Senior Mechatronics Engineer works across mechanical, electrical, and controls domains. You own the electromechanical architecture: defining how machines achieve the motion they need, selecting and sizing actuators and sensors, designing pneumatic circuits, building wiring harnesses, and testing cross-domain systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the electromechanical architecture; define motion strategies and make trade-off decisions
- Select and size motors, actuators, gearboxes, drives, encoders, and pneumatic components
- Design end-effectors, grippers, and tooling with integrated actuation and sensing
- Design and build physical wiring harnesses; produce wiring schematics
- Produce 3D models, detailed drawings with GD&T, and BOMs for electromechanical subsystems
- Lead testing and debug for all systems you designed
- Support installation, commissioning, and field issues at customer sites
- Set electromechanical design standards and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years designing and building electromechanical systems or automation equipment
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), GD&T, and tolerance stack-up
- Experience selecting motion components and designing pneumatic systems
- Hands-on wiring experience; experience selecting and integrating sensors
- Must be on-site; comfortable in a working shop
