About Bestioles
Bestioles is an endowment fund committed to the protection of farm animals and to highlighting the often invisible human, social, and economic realities of the livestock industry.
We support grassroots projects, associations, retraining initiatives, young project leaders, and awareness campaigns. Our approach seeks to create connections between animal protection, the agricultural sector, philanthropy, journalism, on-the-ground storytelling, and social transformation. As part of the development of our editorial content, we are looking for a journalism/content writing intern starting in September.
Main responsibilities
1. Research, monitoring, and summary sheets
- Conduct research on topics related to farm animals, animal welfare, agricultural developments, career changes, and positive initiatives.
- Identify inspiring articles, studies, reports, associations, individuals, and projects.
- Prepare summary sheets for the Bestioles team: topic, context, key figures, stakeholders, issues, and useful sources.
- Identify original, insightful, and well-researched editorial angles.
2. Content writing and communication support
- Write short articles, profiles, project descriptions, and LinkedIn or Instagram posts.
- Prepare content based on news from Bestioles, its award winners, and its partners.
- Work closely with the communications agency supporting Bestioles to provide them with content: testimonials, quotes, project summaries, background information, and editorial perspectives.
- Contribute to building a content library: quotes, available photos, key figures, biographies, and useful links.
- Help adapt content for different platforms: website, newsletter, social media, and partner materials.
3. Interviews, Profiles, and Video Content
- Prepare interview questions for winners, associations, researchers, farmers in career transition, veterinarians, and other committed individuals.
- Participate in video and in-person interviews.
- Transcribe, summarize, and format testimonials.
- Ideally, contribute to filming short video interviews using lightweight equipment such as a camera or smartphone.
- Participate in reviewing and editing short videos, particularly using CapCut.
4. Participation in Bestioles’ activities
- Participate occasionally in events, conferences, meetings, committees, or dinners organized by Bestioles or its partners.
- Help prepare content before or after these events: notes, reports, posts, summaries, profiles.
- Stay informed about the projects supported and identify human and animal stories that deserve to be told.
Desired profile
- Student in journalism, editorial communication, political science, humanities, environmental studies, or equivalent.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong interest in social issues, animal protection, agriculture, transitions, the non-profit sector, or philanthropy.
- Curiosity, rigor, and a sense of nuance.
- Ability to handle sensitive topics with tact and precision.
- Ability to work independently remotely.
- Proficiency in information research, interviews, and summarizing.
- Prior experience in writing, podcasting, documentaries, short videos, or general interest communication would be a plus.
- Proficiency in basic video recording and editing using CapCut would be particularly appreciated.
