About the Role
This role focuses on building BIA’s grassroots presence across India by recruiting volunteers, establishing city-level networks, and expanding into new regions.
You will operate on the ground—visiting campuses, engaging communities, and creating the local infrastructure that enables campaigns to run.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute on-ground campaign actions (flyering, visits, documentation)
- Conduct outreach in colleges and community spaces to recruit volunteers
- Establish campus chapters or informal student groups
- Build relationships with student organisations and aligned communities
- Train volunteers for effective campaign participation
- Expand presence into new cities through mapping and outreach
- Report on recruitment outcomes and local opportunities
Candidate Profile
- Strong communication skills across diverse audiences
- Ability to build and maintain relationships quickly
- High initiative and resourcefulness in unfamiliar environments
- Comfort with frequent travel and independent work
- Reliability and consistency in follow-through
Preferred:
- Existing connections with student or youth communities
- Experience in campus outreach or recruitment
- Public speaking or presentation experience
- Background in animal welfare, sustainability, or social impact
- Ability to leverage social media for recruitment and engagement
Success Metrics
- Month 1: Execute initial actions, map institutions, begin outreach
- Month 2: Recruit initial volunteers, build campus relationships, run small actions
- Month 3: Establish active city presence with consistent volunteer participation and actionable local insights
