About the Role
ProVeg Netherlands is looking for an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and analytical Eiweet Lead. In this role, you will work closely with supermarkets and contract caterers and take the lead in the application, further development, and scaling up of Eiweet.
Eiweet was developed by ProVeg and the Green Protein Alliance and is the standard methodology in the Netherlands used by organizations to measure where they stand in the protein transition and what proportion of their purchased or sold proteins is plant-based. Measuring the protein ratio is an essential step in making the Dutch diet more sustainable and healthier.
In this role, you work at the intersection of businesses, data, and strategy. You not only help organizations measure structurally, but you also translate the figures into strategic next steps to make their offerings more plant-based and less animal-based. In doing so, you work on the further growth and consolidation of Eiweet in the Netherlands and take steps towards the further international scaling up of the project (The Protein Tracker).
What You Will Do in This Role
In this varied role, you are the face of Eiweet, both within ProVeg and to the outside world. Because we work with a self-organizing structure (Holacracy), you are given a great deal of freedom and trust to shape this role independently. Naturally, you are not alone, and you work closely with your colleagues from the Corporate Engagement circle.
- Strategic relationship management: You actively build relationships with new organizations and maintain close contact with existing users to ensure an increasingly broader and more efficient application of the methodology.
- Translating data into commercial opportunities: Together with the Green Protein Alliance and an external data specialist, you conduct in-depth analyses and help companies translate the results into commercial and strategic opportunities. You also take the lead in the creation and publication of the annual Eiweet reports for Dutch supermarkets and contract caterers.
- Scaling up Eiweet: You identify new applications and build Eiweet’s position as the standard method for measuring plant-based and animal protein. In doing so, you ensure that the tool becomes increasingly easy to apply in sectors such as healthcare, education, leisure, and restaurants. You achieve this, for example, by developing practical tools and joining forces with suppliers who can deliver data directly to locations.
We Are Looking for You If You
- Bring at least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably within a retail or foodservice company (for example, in a role related to sustainability, category management, or purchasing).
- Get energy from collaborating with companies and find it interesting to translate data and market insights into concrete actions for the protein transition.
- Enjoy performing executive work as well as establishing strategic collaborations and identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.
- Closely follow market developments and immediately identify opportunities to further develop Eiweet.
- Are intrinsically motivated to accelerate the protein transition and further develop yourself.
Perhaps you can’t tick all the boxes, but do you recognize yourself in this profile? Then be sure to let us know!
Your Skills
- You easily build lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- You understand the commercial context and interests of companies and speak their language.
- You naturally take ownership of your work, set clear priorities, and maintain an overview in a dynamic environment.
- You make complex data easily understandable and know how to present this convincingly.
- You have an excellent command of Dutch and can work professionally in English.
