About the internship

Do you want to contribute to a brand-new national campaign that helps the Netherlands eat more plant-based food, step by step? Are you a sustainable foodie? Do you have a knack for writing and do you enjoy maintaining contact with both companies and consumers? Are you bursting with ideas for (online) content and do you enjoy helping to build a campaign that makes a real impact? Then we are looking for you!

Wissel ‘ns Wat! is the new year-round behaviour campaign building on the success of the National Meat-Free Week. Instead of a single campaign week, we invite people all year round to make small, achievable plant-based choices – in their own way. Positively, flexibly, and without a lecturing tone. As an intern, you will be part of this team from day one and help the movement continue to grow.

What is Wissel ‘ns Wat!?

Wissel ‘ns Wat ! is a nationwide campaign that inspires people to choose plant-based options more often by showcasing small ‘switches’ in daily life. From weekday meals to lunch, BBQs, or dining out: there is always something to swap. The campaign deliberately targets the ‘movable middle’: people who are open to more plant-based nutrition but often do not yet know how to get started. The campaign collaborates with strong partners from retail, food, and social organizations to achieve sustainable behavioral change at scale.

What are you going to do?

As an intern, you will support the campaign team at the intersection of communication, activation, and community. You will manage and monitor our website and social media channels and actively engage with consumers and organizations. You will assist with community management, contribute to newsletters, and consider tone, timing, and content. Additionally, you will support influencer collaborations and the organization of physical activation and campaign events. You will also help collect, analyze, and report results so that we can continuously learn and optimize. The internship is versatile and offers plenty of room for your own initiative and ideas.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic communications, marketing, or digital media student (or someone with a similar background) with an affinity for plant-based food, sustainability, and digital content/communication. You enjoy writing, feel at home on social media, and like communicating with different target audiences. You work in a structured manner, can work well independently, and are not afraid to take initiative. You are available for at least 32 hours per week for a period of five months or longer. Experience with social media and communications work is a plus, but not a requirement.

What do we offer?

We offer you a hands-on internship where you are given plenty of responsibility and are truly part of the team. You will work alongside a small, driven team of campaign and communications professionals and learn how to set up and grow a national behavioral campaign. The internship can start in February or September, is a minimum of 32 hours per week, and offers flexibility regarding the workplace. The internship allowance is €400 per month based on 32 hours per week. In addition, we ensure a pleasant working atmosphere, shared lunch at our office in Amsterdam, good coffee, and, of course, plenty of inspiration regarding plant-based food.

Interested?

Would you like to help build Wissel ‘ns Wat! and contribute to a positive food transition in the Netherlands? Then send your motivation and CV to info@wisselnswat.nl and tell us why you are a good fit for this campaign. 💚
