Before my career advising call, I felt unsure whether my profile aligned with the animal advocacy movement and which roles suited me best. During the session, Lorenzo listened carefully, clarified which career paths matched the movement’s needs, shared relevant job opportunities, and gave detailed feedback on my professional profile. After the call, I feel much more confident and focused, with a clear sense of direction and the right next steps for my career.
Before talking with Lorenzo, I wasn’t sure how to start a career in animal advocacy. Even though I had finished the AAC online course, I still felt lost about my next steps. During our conversation, Lorenzo offered several ways I could get involved in the field, all based on my background and goals. He also shared his own experiences, which gave me a better understanding of what to expect. After our call, I felt inspired and motivated to use his advice to build my skills and pursue roles where I can make a real difference for farm animals.
Before my call, I felt insecure and doubted that I could make a career shift into a field so drastically different from what I was doing in the past. Lorenzo allowed me to see the many transferrable skills I do have and explained paths to get there. I feel more inspired and confident after my call.

Before the career advising call, I was struggling with doubts about whether pursuing a career in animal advocacy would be financially sustainable in the long term. Despite my strong motivation to contribute to this field, I was uncertain whether my more senior, policy-focused profile could realistically find a place within it. After the call, I feel much more confident about my next steps. I now see how I can position myself in this space and approach the transition strategically, with a clearer sense of direction and practical tools to move forward. The additional resources Lorenzo shared were highly relevant and much appreciated.
I want to dedicate my career to animal advocacy, but had little idea where to begin in order to make the most impact. The call helped me identify which career paths would best align with my strengths and values, and alerted me to possibilities of combining different aspirations (which I had previously abandoned as I hadn’t even considered compatible) with animal protection. I now feel more prepared, focussed, and even optimistic about next steps.

Yes! Our career advising service is completely free. We offer it to support people who want to pursue impactful, animal-focused careers.
We support careers across the animal advocacy space. These include roles in policy, research, communications, campaigns, operations, corporate outreach, and more, inside or outside of nonprofits, as well as adjacent roles.
You’ll receive an email with relevant job leads, contacts, or resources. We may also check in a few months later to hear how your journey is progressing.
Yes, we’ll ask you to share more details about your career background and goals after your application is accepted. This helps us make the session as useful as possible.
That’s totally fine. Our job is to help you gain clarity and confidence, whether you’re exploring options or narrowing things down.
We prioritise applicants with some professional experience, but we still encourage you to explore our online course and career path guides. We also have an article about career advice for students. These resources may answer many of your questions before you apply.
We typically review applications within 1-1.5 months. Once we’ve reviewed your details, we’ll let you know if we believe we can assist you and invite you to schedule a call.
The video call usually lasts around 30-45 minutes. Afterward, you’ll receive follow-up advice tailored to your situation.
Yes. After you apply, we may ask you to share more details about your background and career goals. Taking some time to reflect on what you’d like to achieve can also help you get the most out of our session.
No. Due to the high volume of applications, we typically offer just one main call per applicant. However, we stay in touch via email if we come across relevant opportunities or resources.
We do not place applicants into positions. However, we can point you to relevant job postings, introduce you to potential contacts, or recommend you for certain roles when appropriate.
That’s completely normal. Part of our role is to help you explore various pathways, gain clarity about your options and help you plan concrete next steps, so you can move forward with confidence!
We are fully run through philanthropic donations. We have been supported by Open Philanthropy, Animal Charity Evaluators, Effective Altruism Funds, Charity Entrepreneurship, and individual donors, but it is vital that we develop a sustainable funding model with multiple funding sources.
We do not expect to be able to meet our funding needs by grants alone, so your support is crucial to our mission. Currently, we need to raise $150,000 USD to meet our target until the end of this year.
Donations for Animal Advocacy Careers are tax-deductible and eligible for gift aid in the US but we may be able to offer tax deductible donations for gifts over $5,000 in the EU and UK through our partners (please get in touch if this is the case). Donors in other countries are still able to donate in the currency of their choice via our donation form above.
For every $1 we spend or you donate, we provide $2.7 of value to the animal movement. We have helped more than 95 individuals change their careers into paid roles that help animals, 50+ volunteering or internships, and have raised over USD $2.2 million to the movement.
