About the Role

We are looking for an experienced researcher whose core strengths are experimental design and turning evidence, from the literature and our own trials, into farmer-level recommendations. You will turn loosely defined welfare questions into clear, trustworthy answers, whether through rapid literature reviews or studies on commercial farms with a limited sample size, variable conditions and imperfect measurement tools.

You will own projects end to end, from sharpening the question to recommending what we should do. Your results will directly shape which interventions we promote.

You will report to our Head of Research and co-create our research plan with them. Within that plan, you lead the design of each study, from hypotheses to analysis. You will work closely with our Program Lead and field team in the Philippines.

About the Organisation

Scale Welfare is a nonprofit working to improve the welfare of farmed fish in the Philippines and Vietnam. We aim to research, test and implement win-win interventions that improve fish welfare and align with industry incentives.
