CEO

About the Role

The Director of Communications will own the organization’s Attract front — the top of their funnel and the engine that grows their base.

This is not a press-office role: you’ll operate as a movement growth marketer, building campaigns and content systems that reach millions of people in Latin America, convert them into opted-in supporters, and feed a pipeline of future activists into their organizing work.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work as a thought partner in shaping how the organization shows up in the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Foot-in-the-door campaigns. Create, develop, and manage our long-running public campaigns, chosen for high emotional salience and low industry defensibility, with multiple peaks per year that continuously bring new people in.
  • Social media strategy. Create, execute, and oversee our content strategy across platforms in Portuguese and Spanish.
  • Digital marketing and funnel. Own the supporter growth and engagement, supporter journey, and funnel optimization: from first touch to opt-in lists (email, WhatsApp) to hand-off into activist recruitment.
  • Build and manage their network of digital ambassadors, an affiliate-style program of creators who amplify campaigns, bring in leads, and grow our base of passive supporters.
  • Brand, tone, and voice. Be the guardian of their identity: bold, rebellious, and magnetic, keeping every touchpoint consistent and unmistakably ours.
  • Measure what matters. Own the Attract scorecard: campaign reach, opt-in list growth, followers on targeted platforms, and lead-to-activist conversion rate.

Who You Are

  • A movement-minded growth strategist and storyteller: you have built audiences and moved people from awareness to action, not just published content.
  • Data-driven: you test, measure, and optimize, and you can explain why a campaign worked (or didn’t).
  • A strong writer and creative director in Portuguese and/or Spanish.
  • Someone who understands internet culture in Latin America and what makes content travel.
  • A builder: energized by zero-to-one work, comfortable with ambiguity, scrappy with resources.
  • You understand how communications can build people power and motivate participation, whether you developed that experience through animal advocacy, grassroots organizing, political campaigns, social movements, or digital community building.
  • Deeply motivated by the mission of ending industrial animal exploitation.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish. English is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiar with Claude and other AI platforms focused on content creation.

We Are Especially Excited If You…

  • Have grown a social media audience or opt-in list from scratch to six figures.
  • Have run creator, influencer, or affiliate programs.
  • Use AI tools daily in your content and marketing operations.
  • Have worked in advocacy, political campaigns, or social movements.
  • Combine paid and organic growth experience, or bring performance-marketing chops from the startup world.

Our Culture

This is not a typical organization — it’s a force, a community, and an identity. They exist to build power for the whole movement, not for themselves. Working with them means:

  • Movement first. They are the engine, not the driver. Their success is measured by other organizations winning more: ego stays at the door.
  • Boldness. They play big. Nothing is impossible until it’s done.
  • Rebellious. They challenge the status quo. Including their own decisions, whenever it stands between them and the highest impact.
  • Agility. They move fast. Their processes are automated and heavily powered by AI so a small team can operate at network scale.
  • Innovation. They play smart. Creativity is how they win on cost-impact where others need ten times the budget.
  • Horizontal by design. Minimal bureaucracy, leaderful structure, high trust, high autonomy, and high accountability.

About the Organisation

REBL is a new force in the farmed animal movement, activist to the core, built like a startup, and done waiting for change to happen slowly. Their mission is to transform how the movement wins: building the people power and fire that turn campaigns into victories for animals. They move fast. They challenge everything. They put activists at the front, where they belong. They are looking for an advocate who's tired of business-as-usual and ready to build something bold, disruptive, and impossible to ignore. The organization is just getting started, and they want people who'll help them win
