About the Role
PFA PPF is seeking a Communications Intern to help build and strengthen an alliance for fish and pig welfare. The role involves identifying relevant organisations and working with alliance members to organise webinars, events, and campaigns; developing campaign materials by gathering content and putting it together; and creating communications and visual assets. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by amplifying awareness and strengthening campaigns for fish and pig welfare.
Note: Prior experience or volunteering with animal welfare organizations is preferred for this role, though motivated candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
1. Campaign and Event Coordination
- Identify relevant organisations and engage them, alongside alliance members, in organising webinars, events, and campaigns.
- Assist in planning and executing webinars, workshops, and awareness campaigns with alliance members.
- Coordinate with speakers, attendees, and alliance members for seamless execution.
2. Content Creation and Campaign Materials
- Develop materials for campaigns by gathering content from multiple sources and putting it together into clear, compelling formats.
- Design graphics, social media posts, and visual assets using tools like Canva.
- Write, edit, and proofread copy for campaigns, social media, newsletters, and other communications.
3. Network-Building and Database Development
- Build and maintain a structured database of organizations and contacts using tools like Excel/Google Sheets.
- Keep records and engagement data accurate, organised, and up to date.
- Maintain organised records of content, assets, and campaign materials.
4. Research
- Conduct research on animal welfare topics and trends to inform campaign and communications strategy.
5. General Support
- Participate in team meetings, provide updates, brainstorm new ideas, and support day-to-day project and operations needs.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling content for campaigns and communications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple organisations and interests.
- Proficiency in design and content tools such as Canva, as well as Word, Google Sheets, Excel, and similar platforms.
- Organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently.
- Curious, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Passionate about creating positive change for animals.
