About the Role

The Animal Law & Policy Advisory Committee at Voices for Animal Welfare (VfAW) supports our efforts to strengthen legal frameworks and advocacy for animals across Africa and Europe. Members bring expertise in animal law, policy, and ethics to ensure our initiatives are grounded in justice and cultural understanding.

Requirements

• Review and advise on legislation, policies, and legal reform efforts related to animal welfare.
• Provide guidance on ethical and culturally sensitive implementation of animal laws.
• Develop or review plain-language legal resources and policy briefs for educators and communities.
• Support legal advocacy by:
• Contributing to research papers or consultation documents.
• Advising on petitions, campaigns, and policy recommendations.
• Recommending partnerships with legal networks, NGOs, or academic institutions.
• Share relevant legal developments and international case studies.
• Participate in educational or awareness initiatives such as webinars, workshops, or legal clinics.
• Join periodic online meetings and contribute to collaborative projects as needed.

This is a voluntary, honorary position focused on promoting fair, transparent, and collaborative animal law development across continents.
