About the Role

The Animal Photography Advisory Committee at Voices for Animal Welfare (VfAW) promotes ethical, inclusive, and culturally respectful storytelling through photography. Members are photographers, visual artists, or media professionals passionate about using imagery to advance animal welfare.

Requirements

• Define and uphold ethical standards for animal photography and storytelling.
• Contribute to the development of the Animal Photography Program and mentorship opportunities.
• Review and advise on content, visual campaigns, and exhibitions.
• Support inclusive and accurate representation of animals, people, and environments.
• Curate or assist in organizing exhibitions, workshops, and visual storytelling projects.
• Collaborate with the communications team to share powerful, ethical imagery.
• Help mentor young or emerging photographers from both Africa and Europe.
• Join online meetings and contribute feedback on program direction or visual strategy.

This is a voluntary, honorary position aimed at advancing empathy and understanding through responsible photography and creative collaboration.
