About the Role
Are you interested in software, including AI applications, and would like to work for a global NGO? As a Software Specialist (all genders) in the German IT team, you will contribute to ensuring that our approximately 250 colleagues worldwide have access to the best software and AI solutions and are able to use them efficiently and securely. You will participate in decisions regarding the selection and use of our software, maintain an overview of our diverse international software landscape, and, throughout, keep IT security and compliance in mind. You will be a key member of our nine-person IT team and work closely with our two Software Specialists.

Tasks
- Market and technology monitoring: You stay up-to-date on the latest trends, developments and best practices in the field of software and artificial intelligence and assess their applicability at ProVeg.
- Knowledge transfer: You ensure that all our colleagues have a good understanding of the possibilities, limitations, and risks of our software and AI applications and adhere to our guidelines and recommendations. To this end, you develop online courses, workshops, and wiki pages.
- Expert role: You empower individual teams to optimally use our software, including AI functions, for their specific application scenarios, and advise management teams and our works council on their opportunities and risks.
- Keeping an eye on the AI and software landscape: You maintain an overview of the software and AI solutions used at ProVeg and the most important projects that our international teams are implementing with them.
- System selection and implementation: You select the best AI and software solutions for a variety of use cases and, in collaboration with the relevant departments, ensure a smooth implementation and integration with other systems.
- Shaping the future: You have the opportunity to help shape the further development of our software and AI strategy, roadmap and guidelines in order to make the best possible use of the potential of new technologies and to use our resources efficiently.
- IT security and data protection: With a keen eye for IT security and data protection, you will work closely with our internal data protection coordination team to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
Required qualifications
- You have a completed degree (Master’s) in a STEM subject or an equivalent qualification through training or further education, e.g. as an IT specialist.
- You have a good understanding of artificial intelligence and experience with various AI applications.
- You have an affinity for software and can quickly familiarize yourself with new software solutions.
- You communicate confidently in writing and orally in English and German.
- You have a structured and pragmatic way of working.
- You enjoy learning new things and continuously improving processes.
- You identify with the goals of ProVeg.
Additional qualifications (nice to have)
- You have experience in software training, documentation, or support.
- You have experience in project management.
- You have already created automation rules or workflows.
- You have basic knowledge of IT security and data protection.
- You have basic knowledge of software development and interfaces (REST APIs).
