The animal advocacy movement runs on small budgets relative to its ambition. When donation is effective, it can fund weeks of campaigning, dozens of policy meetings, or even a whole non-profit organization.

Pledge a percentage of your income
Giving for Animals is AAC’s pledge programme, run in partnership with Giving What We Can.
Commit to giving a percentage of your income to high-impact animal charities: 10%, or a trial percentage that fits your situation.
Build a career around giving
Earning to give is a career path where you take a high-paying role — often in finance, tech, or consulting — specifically to donate large amounts to effective animal charities.
For some people, this can generate substantial impact for animals.
EFFECTIVE GIVING
A donation directed well can be many times more impactful than one given by default. Learn how to give effectively.
Research suggests that donations to the most effective animal charities can be 10–100 times more impactful than typical donations. Choosing where to give matters as much as how much.
The vast majority of animal charity dollars flows to companion animal welfare — shelters, rescues, adoption. Yet farmed animals account for the overwhelming majority of animals affected by human activity, and receive a small fraction of the funding. This is where additional support has the most room to move the needle.
Picking individual charities takes expertise most donors don't have. Pooled funds — managed by people who study the movement full-time — let you donate once and have the money allocated across high-impact organizations. It's often the better choice for time-constrained donors.
