About the Role
This volunteer board role focuses on helping shape the policy, strategy, and long-term direction of Bite Back, an animal rights organization campaigning against all forms of animal exploitation.
You will contribute to the organization’s development through governance, strategic input, and selected operational support tasks aligned with your skills and interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to policy, vision, and long-term strategic direction
- Help guide the organization’s overall development as a general board member
- Take on specific administrative or support tasks based on your skills and interests
- Support staff in areas such as fundraising, accounting, volunteer coordination, or campaigns
- Participate in monthly board meetings, held alternately in person and online
- Contribute flexibly to ongoing board work from home on a weekly basis
Candidate Profile
- Full support for Bite Back’s mission, objectives, and total liberation vision
- Vegan and aligned with the organization’s animal rights values
- Enthusiastic, committed, and motivated to contribute ideas and take initiative
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
- Available for weekly board-related work
- Good communication and/or managerial skills
Nice to Have
- Experience or interest in fundraising
- Experience or interest in bookkeeping
- Interest in impactful, long-term campaigns and activism
- Knowledge of non-profit organizations
- Management experience
Commitment & Conditions
- Volunteer role
- Time commitment: approximately 2 hours per week
- Work setup: mainly from home, with monthly meetings alternating between in-person and digital
- Introductory period: 6 months as an aspiring board member
- Minimum commitment: 1 year
- Long-term commitment preferred to support organizational continuity
