Vegan Policy

AAC’s goal is to speed up the end of animal suffering, and an essential part of this is to stand up for animals by choosing to leave them off our plates.

To uphold this commitment, we have implemented a vegan policy encompassing our office environment, events, external engagements, and expenditure, ensuring alignment with our core values and respect for our team, donors, and–most importantly–the animals. This policy encompasses both a vegan workplace and compassionate purchasing policy. We hope to set an example–starting with our own team–that everyone can live their values in protecting animals.

All team members are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:

Compassionate Purchasing Policy

AAC funds shall be spent exclusively on non-animal products.

  • Team members may not buy any animal products with their AAC credit card, and AAC will not reimburse any expenses incurred on animal products. This applies regardless of whether the funds you wish to expense were spent on yourself, a volunteer, an advisor, or a donor.
  • When AAC buys food for its own events–internally or externally facing–or otherwise provides food, all of that food shall be vegan.

Vegan Workplace Policy

Vegan at least when working for or representing the organisation.

  • At AAC’s physical offices or events, all food and clothing must be free of animal products.
  • During video calls or in-person meetings with team members, volunteers, donors, or other individuals, do not consume animal products or wear animal-based clothing.
  • Similarly, when representing AAC at events or in any capacity, it is crucial to refrain from consuming animal products or wearing animal-based clothing.
