About the Role

The Legislative Affairs Manager (Institutional Affairs Officer) plays a key role in identifying, leading and implementing strategies aimed at promoting animal welfare, focusing primarily on current legislation at both national and international (EU) level.

Main responsibilities:
* Strategy Development and Implementation: Development and execution of the institutional affairs strategy and agenda, in line with the organization's plan and in collaboration with the Vice President.
* Development of Institutional Relations: I develop effective strategies to maintain relations with the competent authorities.
* Legislative Analysis and Monitoring: Analysis of legislative processes and monitoring of legislation, evaluating the implications of interest to the organization and animals, identifying and proposing normative, legislative or legal initiatives when necessary.
* Category Entity Relationship Management: Manage relationships with category entities and interface with decision-making functions and departments.
* Alignment of Institutional Communication Objectives: Ensure effective alignment of institutional communication objectives with the organization's objectives.
* Supervision of European and International Bodies: Supervise and monitor the activities and guidelines of European and international bodies relevant to the organisation.
* Continuous Update: Keeping yourself continuously updated on topics related to the organization's sectors of interest.
* Program Planning and Implementation: Plan and ensure the implementation of the organization's programs and projects, integrating lobbying and legislative work with other departments.
* Maintaining Relationships with Other Organizations: Maintain relationships with other organizations in the sector and work in coalitions.
* Evaluating Legislative Tactics: Constantly monitor the effectiveness of the legislative tactics adopted, making modifications and adjustments when necessary.
* Collaboration with Other Departments: Collaborate consistently with other departments within the organization to measure the impact of legislative initiatives.
* Engage and Update Institutions: Engage institutions and keep them updated on developments in the organization's projects.
* Coordination of Reporting Activities: Coordinate reporting activities aimed at disseminating and sharing with institutional entities the developments, status, news and possible future needs of the organization's projects.
* Representation of the Organization: Represent the organization in forums, conferences and meetings.
* Development of any strategy or task that the supervisor deems necessary.
